This was really Annie and Summer's party, that just so happened to take place in Rey's stupidly giant apartment. Still, even while she'd been told a lot of people might be coming, Rey was a little concerned no one actually would, and then she'd have to figure out what to do with just... a ridiculous amount of alcohol and so many inflatable reindeer. And packages for this thing had been showing up daily for a week, including as late as this afternoon, and after all of this, people had better show up.

There were so many Christmas lights around the place that the apartment lights weren't even on, Summer's Jello shots were very much on display, and while there was mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, it wouldn't force you to kiss anyone. (No, no, that's the alcohol's job.) It was jolly as hell up in here, and honestly loud enough that even if you decided to skip the party you'd probably have some idea of how it went.

Also Tino showed up like ten minutes early and was just kind of hanging around.

Diego had promised Annie tinsel and a Santa hat and he delivered. Yeah he looked like an idiot and he felt like an idiot but a few drinks in and he wouldn't care.

"You look so great," Annie greeted him, absolutely beaming.

Of course Annie liked it. Look at what she was wearing.

"I look like Christmas threw up on me," Diego said. He sighed dramatically. "The things I do for a pretty girl."

"Maybe a pretty girl will do something nice for you, too," Annie replied, going onto her toes to kiss him lightly and jingling with literally every movement of her head.

Diego smiled because that was one of the jingliest kisses he's ever had. "The keg stand will be reward enough for me."

"I'm starting to regret agreeing to do one," Annie admitted, though she was smiling. "I've maybe allowed myself to get talked into a lot of things, here."

Keg stands. Singing. Cleaning all this shit up.

She was still having so much fun.

"Danny said I should goad Steve into a keg stand," Diego said. "This was before the mistletoe made me kiss him yesterday."

"First of all, yes, you should, and secondly." Annie was raising her brows at him, because she had heard the radio and would have brought it up if he hadn't. "I hope you and Danny are very happy together."

Only because it was Danny. He'd have gotten a total understanding pass on anyone else, but because it was Danny she was, like, required to tease.

"I think Steve would be too jealous if Danny and I ran off together," Diego said. "Also? Not a great kisser."

"Yes, only Steve would be jealous," Annie agreed, smiling before reaching out to lightly grab him on the arm and lowering her voice. "But were you there when they kissed? Because that happened, according to the radio."

"I haven't been rendered blind so, no, I did not see it," he joked. "Maybe they'll show up in matching outfits tonight."

"We should be so lucky." Oh Annie, if you only knew. "I had to kiss Summer and Rey," she added, pointing each of them out. And really, she had saved Summer, heroically.

"You got off easy," Diego said. "They don't look like they have stubble."

"I get enough stubble in my voluntary kissing," Annie told him, leaning in to kiss him again. (Still with the jingling.) "Like, at least we don't have to spend the rest of December dreading the mistletoe thing?"

"Ho! Ho! Ho!" Santa laughed as he approached Diego and pulled out a gift for him out of his bag.

"Merry Christmas!"

This was Diego's official first gift from Santa. And you know what? He actually kind of liked it. "Hey, thanks man!"

The alcohol helped with his enthusiasm.

"Wow, you're really in the honeymoon stage, huh?" Danny shouldn't talk. He was wearing a terrible, Christmas themed Hawaiian shirt.

"Looks like you are too," Diego said, nodding at Danny's shirt. "I already talked to Steve about the keg stand."

"It's a gift from his aunt." It was not. Steve was a lying liar who lied. "And I'm confiscating the cattle prod some lunatic gave him so he can't cheat."

"He got a cattle prod?" That was pure jealousy on Diego's face. "I just got Ratguy socks."

"...yeah, I can see that," Danny said, considering that hero put up against Rambo's Ninja Cousin here. "And I'm locking the damn thing up now."

No one got to play with the fun toys.

"What if it was just Steve and me using the cattle prod on each other to see who winces first?" he asked.

"Am I going to walk in on this happening sometime in the future?" REAL TALK HERE.

"Depends on where you hide the cattle prod." If it was in your desk then Diego could break in. As he had done before.

Yes, please stop doing that, Diego. You could just ask for snacks.

"Oh, great. I'll be sure to keep the clinic on speed dial."
