MCA #1- Tuesday afternoon

While Rey was definitely not new here, this was the first year she'd really experienced the last week or so this way. Pollen had always been a frustration before, and the kids she'd had had been impossible in ways that meant it was harder to get too attached. It was a little different when there was a possibility, even if Cerra probably wasn't ever happening either, and it was making for a weird Tuesday.

Rey had taken these thoughts, bottled them up, spent twice as long training in a futile effort to make up for last week, and then felt like she got back to her apartment too early. Well, she could always put away the things they'd "cleaned up" by shoving them out of sight when the girls showed up...

"It might be a good idea," Silver said. "Best be prepared."

"Maybe I can distract them with pictures of Cerra, who probably did not see my bra on a lamp." Rey felt like Cerra would have pointed it out if she had.

"I feel like if she saw it the whole town would know about it." Somehow she would have escaped and shouted it at the top of her lungs.

"Do you think she's like that to make up for us being quieter?" Rey asked, amused.

"Possibly," he said. "Or she hasn't yet figured out how to use her gift of incessant talking for good."

"Or she was just trying to keep us distracted," Rey mused.

"Distract us from what?" he asked, amused.

[thatwaslucky]

"Whatever she was trying to get away it, probably," Rey said.

"I can't believe you would suggest that our daughter would use nefarious means to try to get away with something," he teased.

"Where would she even pick up such a thing," Rey said wryly.

Cerra's Rey absolutely started warning her away from the dark dude by like age two.

"I have no idea," Silver lied. "The internet?"

Rey had to laugh at that one. "Really?"

"You can learn a lot of things from the internet." That's how he knew half his knowledge about this century!

"And definitely not from your thief and pirate father, not at all," she grinned.

"Well...it might have a little to do with it," he joked. "Just a little."

"As long as she's using her powers for good," Rey said. "I guess wanting to go see her dad isn't a terrible reason."

"I feel like if she had been with me at the time, she would have snuck off to see you," he said.

[thatwaslucky]

"Might have depended on whether your attention was on her or not," Rey countered. "I doubt that version of us is ever bored."

"I believe that is true of most parents," he said. "Though us more than others, after seeing Cerra."

I like her, though," Rey admitted.

[long_memory]

"I do too," he said, and was still a little amazed by that. "Maybe we'll see her again next year."

Well, that made her heart do a little tiny flip she didn't want to admit to.

"I'd be okay with that," she said, snuggling closer to him.

Silver put his arm around Rey, kissing the top of her head. "I would be too."
