MCA #1- Monday morning

Silver was still a parrot, and while Rey knew full well this was way worse for him, she was really missing her boyfriend by now. And honestly her day to day life was not that exciting, so he got to deal with her training and calls with Finn and then probably a different kind of training and not a ton more.

Which was on her mind as she was sitting in the little reading nook area where she was going through one of the Jedi texts, glancing up at her parrot boyfriend where he was perched.

"Hopefully you're not sick of me yet," she told him.

"Oh! Hi again," Rey said, immediately putting the book down to go help him.

"...hi," he said, wincing as he sat up. "Ow."

"Are you all right?" Rey asked, crouching next to him.

"I'll be fine," he said. "That was only slightly embarrassing."

[thatwaslucky]

"It's just me. Embarrassing doesn't really count here," she smiled.

"Being a bird in general was kind of embarrassing," he said. "I know Anakin saw it."

"And he told me about how he was a very angry cat." See, Anakin got it.

[long_memory]

"That fits pretty well," he admitted, pushing himself up off the floor. Luckily he had plenty of practice doing it without the prosthetic by now. "The nudity is a surprise."

"Yeah, I should have warned you about that," she said apologetically. "Do you want clothes?"

"Pants would be nice." He felt like he had been naked all weekend and he'd feel more human if he were wearing clothes.

"Okay. Do you want the crutch, too?" Because of course she had that and the prosthetic where she could easily get to them for when this happened.

"Please," he said, grateful that she had asked but still feeling a little ashamed about it. "I hope that was a one time thing."

"Hopefully," she agreed, leaving for a few seconds just to bring back pants and the crutch for him as quickly as possible. "You get to feeling more normal again."

"Thank you," he said, reaching for his pants first. "Has this happened to you many times?"

"Just the once, and it's been years," Rey said. "I don't want to get my hopes up about that."

And she shouldn't. Super not in the clear on turning into an animal.

"Probably wise," he said with a slight smile as he reached for the crutch. "I guess there's worse animals to turn into."

"Believe me, there are," she said, waiting until he was settled before leaning in for a hello kiss.

He had really kind of missed the whole kissing thing. "Thank you for watching over me."

It had been days. "Of course. Thank you for behaving," she smiled.

"I'm not sure how much trouble I could have gotten into as a bird," he said with a laugh. "But I guess it's good I was a parrot that didn't talk. That would have been really annoying."

"I don't know, it was really quiet this weekend." She was usually the one who left for a night or a weekend and now she knew that not having him around in human form all the time was very weird.

"Parrots can be really obnoxious," he said with a smile. "Consider yourself lucky."

[thatwaslucky]

"You could never be obnoxious," Rey said, and somewhere Flint was probably heartily disagreeing. "Are parrots a big thing with pirates?"

[long_memory]

He nodded. "They're in abundance in the Bahamas and they're good pets to have at sea. Usually it's either them or cats on a ship."

Probably wasn't wise to have both on board at the same time though.

"I had no idea," she said, going to move over to the sofa. She wanted to be able to properly cuddle. "I was told you were playing into a theme."
