Rey's warehouse- Friday

Rey had gotten back from her trip home yesterday, and hadn't managed to get to the warehouse before now. So she was a little surprised when she said hello to the woodchucks and saw one otter in the group. She frowned, but said hello to her anyway.

Just wait till she found out they were missing a woodchuck and the otter was an exchange student.

"Rey?" Anakin called, stepping into the warehouse. "How was your trip?"

"Good. Very busy," she said, waving him in. "How was yours?"

"Well, an amusement park crashed into our hotel," Anakin said dryly. "It went downhill from there."

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm sorry, what."

You had to know there'd be no other reaction.

[sith_happened]

"An amusement park from space crashed into our hotel," Anakin said, sounding weary.

[thatwaslucky]

"Yes, I heard that, but I need an explanation," she said.

[sith_happened]

"The pilots of the park seemed to feel this was a normal occurance."

That wasn't helping any, was it?

[thatwaslucky]

"The pilot. Of the park."

Anakin.

[sith_happened]

"Turns out that our galaxy doesn't corner the market on strange," Anakin said. "I'm as surprised as anyone."

[thatwaslucky]

"But why would there be a traveling amusement park?" She wondered.

[sith_happened]

"I have no idea," Anakin admitted. "I forgot to ask."

[thatwaslucky]

Rey didn't know how you didn't ask about that, but luckily there were more questions!

"Was everyone in the hotel okay?"

[sith_happened]

"That was my first concern," Anakin said, nodding, "and yes. But we had to move from the very nice hotel into the deeply mediocre hotel before the, well, structural collapse."

"This didn't sound like a great trip," she stated.

[sith_happened]

"It wasn't that relaxing," Anakin agreed.

[thatwaslucky]

"Did it get better after the.. amusement park crash?"

How dare you make her say those words together.

Anakin waggled his hand. "Sort of?"

[thatwaslucky]

"Care to share details?" Rey asked.

[sith_happened]

"I'm still reading through the raft of paperwork I needed to sign to cover things that could go wrong and how they weren't responsible," Anakin began. "I think I would break Zoe's desk if I put it on it."

[thatwaslucky]

"Nothing like needing a vacation to recover for your vacation." She assumed.

[sith_happened]

Anakin sighed heavily. "Exactly. And that's not even getting into the theme park having stuffies that looked like the Necromancy teacher."

[thatwaslucky]

"...Master Skywalker."

Be kidding.

[sith_happened]

"Really," he said tiredly. "Is there whiskey hiding in here?"

[thatwaslucky]

"Not unless you ask the woodchucks," Rey said. "Or their otter friend."

[sith_happened]

"They have an otter friend now?" Anakin asked, glancing over at the woodchucks.

[thatwaslucky]

"I don't know why," she said. "She seems friendly enough for an otter."

[sith_happened]

"Do you have a lot of other otters to compare them to?" Anakin teased.

[thatwaslucky]

"No but I've been to the zoo, once," she said.

[sith_happened]

Anakin grinned. "I like the zoo, too."

[thatwaslucky]

"It's fun! I'd never seen most of the things in there before!" Of course she'd love the zoo. Of course.

[sith_happened]

"There are so many animals on this planet and some of them aren't even trying to kill you," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"Some are great even if they try to kill you," Rey said. "I've seen bears."

[sith_happened]

"I love bears," Anakin agreed. "I like the black ones."

[thatwaslucky]

"Polar bears," Rey said seriously. "Never seen anything like them before."

[sith_happened]

"They're huge!" Anakin said enthusiastically.

[thatwaslucky]

"And they're actually black! I don't understand it," Rey said. "It's adorable madness. They go swimming!"

[sith_happened]

"And eat seals, which are also cute. I get conflicted about that."

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm not thinking about that," Rey admitted. "It's not like they can't not eat seals."

[sith_happened]

"No takeout in the Arctic," Anakin agreed.

[thatwaslucky]

"Just seals and penguins," Rey said, wrongly.

[sith_happened]

"Are there penguins there?"

Like Anakin had ever paid attention.

[thatwaslucky]

"I think so. They're where the ice is," she shrugged, wrongly.

[sith_happened]

"That makes sense," Anakin agreed. "They probably live all over where the ice is because of the globe warming up."

Again, no.

[thatwaslucky]

"It would make sense," Rey said. "Where else would they be?"

Argentina, South Africa, the Galapagos...

[sith_happened]

"I don't know, other than in some zoos," Anakin said. "I think Cade tried to steal one?"

[thatwaslucky]

"He tries to steal everything," she said with a wave of her hand.

She'd met him like twice but she knew his rep.

[sith_happened]

"He once tried to get a pair of camels onto a boat during Spring Break," Anakin said. "Pretended they were students."

[thatwaslucky]

Rey tilted her head. "Fandom's mostly human. I'm pretty sure teachers would have noticed students that looked like that."

[sith_happened]

"He claimed animal transformation," Anakin said with a light eye roll.

[thatwaslucky]

"No," she said simply.

[sith_happened]

"That's also what I said."

[thatwaslucky]

"I can't even consider... no."

Just no.

[sith_happened]

"And that's why no one else is Cade," Anakin said dryly.

[thatwaslucky]

"Which is probably best for all of us," she mused. "I don't think we could handle two."

[sith_happened]

"We definitely could not," Anakin said.

[thatwaslucky]

"And he's probably not the type to go to zoos." Hopefully.

[sith_happened]

"Only for window shopping," Anakin said dryly.

[thatwaslucky]

"Somehow that just made me sad," Rey frowned.

[sith_happened]

"Cade has that effect on people," Anakin said.
