Unsurprisingly, Rey loved having the girls around. It was one of the rare weekends like this that wasn't weird or kind of traumatic. Instead, it was just nice. There would definutely be things to think about, and the timing was definitely awkward for when they were supposed to go to Beltane, but... nice.

Also Hanna could maybe be a little more forthcoming about some of the Jedi stuff in her universe but whatever.

And knowing that their time together was coming to an end, that felt like a good excuse to sugar them up on cookies before send them off. Sorry, AU future Reys and Adrians.

"How many chocolate chips should they have?" Rey asked, kind of knowing the answer.

[For them and all the SP.]
thatwaslucky: (this isn't so bad)
So, that had been a good week.

Rey could tell immediately upon waking up that the pollen was gone. That halfway buzzing feeling was gone, and she was relieved but also a little sorry about it, even if they didn't exactly need it.

And despite all the closeness this week, she snuggled a little closer to Adrian, because even if she was awake and actually a little hungry, she didn't want to be apart yet. Sure, there were things that she'd needed to do that had gone wholly ignored and she should get to them, but it wasn't like real life was going anywhere.

She'd also historically not had a reason to automatically remember what this weekend tended to be, but it should register in a bit.

The weather was nice, and Rey made her way to the beach a little early to set up for date night. It wasn't anything fancy, mostly little sandwiches and snacks, some she'd made or put together herself. She had made the pasta salad as she'd been taught (and it was good!), which was maybe more than she'd needed to do, but why should Adrian be the only one to make an effort for this sort of thing?

And once she'd gotten everything set up, she found a place to sit and wait. The beach was pretty this time of day.

[For the date!]
thatwaslucky: (interested)
A couple weeks ago, Rey had brought up maybe using the Danger Shop for training, and she had no idea how she'd never thought of it before. If she felt like she might be getting rusty/too used to the usual training methods, why not create a whole new challenge?

After classes had finished, Rey made her way there, scrolling on her phone as she waited for Anakin.

[For that guy mentioned!]
thatwaslucky: (yes that)
Rey could cook just fine. It wasn't ever fancy or anything, but it was perfectly serviceable food that you'd be perfectly fine eating. However, when you had basically a domestic god for a boyfriend, it would be dumb to not have him teach you a few things.

"I'll warn you, I have probably only the basics of equipment here," she said as she looked through a cabinet. "But I do have them."

And if they needed anything she didn't have, they'd make it work.

[For the guy from that thing.]

Rey had taken Juliet and Christopher home this weekend. It gave Anakin a break, and it gave her some opportunity to show them the galaxy, specifically Jedi-related parts of the galaxy. And to teach them some things. She felt like she didn't suck at teaching as much these days? Or maybe she just really didn't want to screw up her Master's kids and was trying harder.

She reached out to let Anakin know when they were back and headed to his house (as if he couldn't tell through the Force) and walked the kids up to the front door.

thatwaslucky: (smiling and talking)
Fandom thought it was being funny.

Rey had gone down to the laundry room to wash her bedding. All was well. Then she came back down to take it out of the dryer, pulled out her sheets… then more sheets… a comforter that she hadn't put in there… more sheets… What had gone into the dryer was a perfectly normal amount of laundry, and what came out was a clown car's worth of bedding.

What she was left with was a ridiculous amount of things that had just appeared mixed in with her actual stuff, and it actually felt like less work to get it up to the second floor than to sort through it in the laundry room. So that's what she did. She got it to her apartment, looked at the mess and decided she really didn't want to put anything/everything away right now.

Instead, she ended up being inspired to pull her furniture together to create an extension to the dining room table, which she used to create a fort with the copies amounts of sheets and pillows and duvets she'd pulled out of the machine, until she ended up with the fluffiest, coziest pillow fort possible.

Then she took a picture and sent it to Adrian, with a text reading, If you're free tonight, dress comfortably. Sometimes you had to use the island's weirdness for good.

[For he who is named in the post!]
thatwaslucky: (sand cat)
Of course Rey would prefer not to be a sand cat. But if she had to be one, there were worse ways to spend a week than getting thoroughly spoiled. Adrian had been very concerned about keeping her warm enough, to the point that she'd had a sort of throne of blankets, even. It was very possible she'd never been so comfortable in all her life. (And hopefully Boston was cool with all of it.)

Tonight she'd hopped up onto Adrian's bed to make herself a cozy little nest in the blankets, finally gotten herself settled, and was just dozing off to sleep when she was startled awake by suddenly not being a cat anymore. And being cold.

thatwaslucky: (i'm just here okay)
It wasn't Rey's first time turning little, but it was the first time since she'd found everything out about herself, and today was… a lot. Not bad. But a lot. She was in such a different place now, and she wasn't used to that mindset anymore, which had made the change back feel a little jarring. And she missed her parents.

It didn't help that she still had to undo some things from the weekend. For instance, her tiny self had gotten into the huge pantry and put together a little go bag in case it was needed, and now her adult self got to put it all back. At the same time, it was a shame it wasn't a bigger project to keep her occupied. She'd go slow.

[For one!]
thatwaslucky: (home sweet home)
Rey was having a quiet, and probably late, night. She was going through one of the old texts, an extremely long project that required translating several languages, some of which were almost dead, on very, very old pages. It was maybe the nerdiest thing she did and she loved it, but it was also probably the most time-consuming thing she'd ever do.

She was hunched over her coffee table with notebooks she'd largely filled with notes that she hadn't wanted to write into the books, pretty sure at some point she was going to blink and see that several hours had gone by.

[For one!]
thatwaslucky: (sleep)
Rey was actually having a really great trip so far, largely because being able to get into a giant body of water without worrying about dying opened up options.

So in some ways, what she woke up in might have come in handy, aside from the fact that she was not leaving the room in it. Not that she realized that. Mostly what she was realizing when she started waking up was as that it was kind of itchy.

[For that guy who's allergic to color!]
thatwaslucky: (maybe)
It really had been a while since Rey had been home, and making this trip meant that she had a chance to show Adrian a little corner of where she came from. And sure, there was some post-First Order cleanup work that had to be done because Rey truly did not get vacations, but there was nothing to be done on the last day except get some free time.

After leaving the Falcon and wandering a bit, Rey brought Adrian into Oga's. The cantina was a little loud thanks to the music, but not too busy, with the patrons being about half human and half various alien species. One of those aliens was the Twi'lek waitress, who upon getting to their table, told them their tab had been covered before leaving them with the drink menus.

"Well, there's that, I guess," Rey said, scanning the room in case it was obvious who'd done that.

[NFB and for that guy!]
thatwaslucky: (are you serious?)
Rey had already needed to do laundry before being drenched in various goos, so after she'd showered and changed she took everything to the laundry room. It started okay, but when she came back to get it after the wash cycle, everything was soaked, and it hadn't run the whole way through. This time it didn't start okay, and she was stuck with heavy clothes she didn't know what to do with.

Maybe she should text Danny and see if she could take this thing apart.

Just wait till she remembered she'd just purged her closet.

[Am I posting from experience? Yes. Open!]
thatwaslucky: (hearing what you're saying)
It had been a while since they'd had a sangria night, and they were pretty much due. This time it was at Rey's apartment, which had her trying to clean up some since she didn't have people over much, and she was doing that despite the fact that she didn't have much of anything. Several years in and the place was still pretty bare bones aside from the mermaid sofa and assorted mismatched furniture.

She'd ordered pizza, and it had occurred to her that she hadn't asked if Summer was bringing the sangria or not, so she'd gotten a couple bottles of something and hoped it was okay, just in case. And if not, someone was going to have to have a party she could donate it to.

[For girls night!]
thatwaslucky: (kind of excited)
Last week's foray into a working Jedi temple had been amazing and emotional. Rey had only ever been in crumbling, ancient places, and the change of perspective was a great thing for her. It was a memory of a time when Jedi were around and things were functioning, and most of it was very different than she'd imagined.

It was also a lot. And it was a huge building. So rather than try to get through it all at once, they were back to the Danger Shop today. Rey was still excited, but in a normal way, and she was on time.
thatwaslucky: (tiny smile)
Anakin had suggested working up the Danger Shop to show her a Jedi temple, and she showed up so, so excited. She'd spent part of her last weekend exploring an ancient, abandoned temple, but it hasn't occurred to her that she'd never asked about seeing a more current one.

For as intimidating as it was trying to piece all these things together to figure out where the Jedi went from here, it was also kind of fun sometimes.

She showed up on time, ready to check it out. Or a minute or two early. Who was counting?
thatwaslucky: (with finn)
Rey had actually gone on a vacation, and also felt guilty enough to make a trip home to do something useful immediately afterwards. She'd figured out that she could really just point the Falcon in any direction to any planet and find someone or another who wanted the help of a Jedi, so she'd picked up Finn to bring him along. On the way, they could work on training.

It could have been going better. )

[NFB, NFI.]
thatwaslucky: (you're adorable)
For whatever reason, the Skywalker-Solos- including adoptees- had rough Augusts. Rey herself had lost four people in that month a couple years apart. Which was why in talking to Anakin, they'd decided maybe they needed to get people together for some commiseration. Also drinking.

Rey didn't have people over very often but it wasn't like there was a ton of stuff to clean in her stupid-giant apartment. As long as the kitchen worked and there were places to sit (the furniture was mostly mermaid!) it was probably fine.

[For said Skywalker-Solos. Because we have spent a lot, a lot of years being mean.]
thatwaslucky: (thinking about it)
The Falcon was silent this morning. Rey didn't know if she'd ever heard it this quiet, really. It was eerie, and broken only by the times Chewie would ask why it was so quiet.

And when she headed up to the cockpit and saw Finn sitting at the dejarik table in the lounge while Poe came out of the cockpit at the same time, things somehow got more quiet, with more than a tinge of awkwardness as no one really knew what to say, or where to look that wasn't directly into anyone's eyes.

"Okay," Finn said suddenly. "That never happened. Agreed?"

"Yes," Rey said immediately.

"Sure didn't," Poe agreed at the same time.

"Good," Finn said, and it got quiet again.

"So I know the coordinates of where I need to be to catch my portal back," Rey said quickly.

"Probably for the best!" Poe said.

Distance. Distance would make this not weird again.

[Like none of you have ever encouraged me to do it. Establishy!]
