Blackwood Grove- Saturday morning
The upside to this situation was that at least there was a talking and very informed cat who could tell Rey things like whether he'd rather stay here or at her place (here) and how to take care of plants (sure there were hollyhocks but there was a whole greenhouse, did she just leave that as is or what) and whether there was a witchcraft thing that would fix things (apparently not). This was all very helpful considering said hollyhocks could not communicate.
So Rey was watering her boyfriend. There was an audible sigh as she realized she'd spilled some water, and so she had to pick plant!Adrian up off the surface and set him closer to the edge in order to clean up the spill.
This was all ridiculous.

But it resulted in the heavy thud of a grown man's body, and not that of a medium-sized ceramic pot. The strangled argh! that happened in midair likely came from something else entirely.

Maybe a medium heart attack.
"Adrian?" she said, moving to his side in a panic.

"Hi Rey," he said. "Guessing from my lack of clothes and how my last memory is not of either of us being right here makes me think--hollyhocks again?"

"Maybe that's what did it," he suggested, wrapping his arms around her. "Something to try for next time?"

"I listened to Boston very closely," she told him.
To a degree that she probably couldn't talk about Adrian trying to keep her warm or making her a kitty blanket throne anymore.

"Is that why we're here?" he murmured, grazing kisses along her hairline.

"He wanted to stay. And I thought you'd rather be home when you changed back," she said. "Hope you don't mind I was here that much."
She didn't think he would.

Probably just from disuse, being a hollyhock and all.

She brought her hand up to his face, stroking her thumb along his cheekbone. "I missed you," she said softly. "A lot."
A lot.

And if he did catch that it looked like she'd been around for a while, it was because she had.
