The people from Fandom would be returning this morning, but the Resistance members were still busy this morning. Yesterday was just the big day, but the setup would still be happening in stages for a while. Unpacking was still being done, areas were being reconfigured, everyone was complaining about their clothes not being suitable for the climate.

If you thought moving apartments was tough, try moving one half of a war.

If there was anyone you wanted to say goodbye to, now was the time. Or maybe you just wanted to bask in warm for a little bit before going back to winter.

[For last minute crew stuff!]
thatwaslucky: (brand new scene)
Early in the morning, Rey got up to land the Falcon on what was going to be the new Resistance base. The base was a cave, under the cover of the jungle around them, and she set them down in a clearing near some other ships. Apparently this was the hangar. People were already unloading things, carrying equipment back and forth, asking directions on where they should put something.

As the day went on, more people arrived. A few smaller ships and starfighters landed, and the people got straight to work, or just reunited with people they hadn't seen recently. These were some of the people who had been working around the galaxy to recruit people for the Resistance, and it had definitely gained traction since the near miss at Crait. It actually looked like this could be the start of something.

But to start, they had to get set up. So if you were able to help unload things and get them working, your help was badly needed.

Or you could find somewhere to slack off on a humid planet that may have already turned your hair into a mess. Either way.

[For the moving crew!]
thatwaslucky: (on the falcon)
While the general vibe of the last day on Anoat had been anxiety, today was relief. They'd gotten away safely, no evidence of their months on the planet left for the First Order to discover. Most of the Resistance members were on the other ship, though Chewie, Leia and Rose stayed on the Falcon. Rey had plotted their course through hyperspace and had put the ship on autopilot, and today was kind of a day to just chill out on a space ship.

There were things to do. There was a lounge area with a dejarik table if you wanted to learn a new game, and another with a mostly empty bar and a sound system that Rey had literally never touched. If you felt like geeking out over tech, someone might put you to work. No, you can't fly the ship. Yes, you can sit there. No, seriously, don't touch anything.

[For le Resistance!]
thatwaslucky: (i have a bad feeling about this)
It was a lovely day on this… uh, planet covered in actual trash. Honestly, it wasn't so bad. Sure, you needed a rebreather to go outside due to the toxic air, which was good because it also kept you from smelling all the literal garbage covering the ground's surface. Somewhere under all that trash was also a monstrous pit beast that could eat you whole, but it probably wouldn't make an appearance today. (Probably.)

But for the most part, they had more pressing things to worry about. There was a series of giant interconnected domed tents which served as the Resistance base. There was war room, filled with massive screens and equipment most of you probably didn't know how to work, where the power had largely been cut to most of it to dismantle them for travel. There was storage for things like supplies, food and weaponry. A few people had living quarters here, and there was a decent kitchen for that sort of setup.

And all of that had to be packed up and moved onto either the Falcon of the other transport ship. ASAP. By the few Resistance members working here, and the lovely volunteers from Fandom.

Welcome to the glamorous Resistance!

[For those on the trip!]
thatwaslucky: (good with this)
This was really Annie and Summer's party, that just so happened to take place in Rey's stupidly giant apartment. Still, even while she'd been told a lot of people might be coming, Rey was a little concerned no one actually would, and then she'd have to figure out what to do with just... a ridiculous amount of alcohol and so many inflatable reindeer. And packages for this thing had been showing up daily for a week, including as late as this afternoon, and after all of this, people had better show up.

There were so many Christmas lights around the place that the apartment lights weren't even on, Summer's Jello shots were very much on display, and while there was mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, it wouldn't force you to kiss anyone. (No, no, that's the alcohol's job.) It was jolly as hell up in here, and honestly loud enough that even if you decided to skip the party you'd probably have some idea of how it went.

Also Tino showed up like ten minutes early and was just kind of hanging around.

Enjoy the night! Hopefully you wore something festive or you're gonna hear about it.

[Open! Every single adult is definitely invited, crashers are invited to do their worst. Please wait for a dumb amount of OCD OCD UP GO PLAY.]
thatwaslucky: (explaining)
Rey and her group got back in the morning, with a slightly more busted-up ship and some new green-furred murder bunny companions. There weren't many people on the trash planet base, so everyone had come out to watch them return. Finn of course had to attack them all with hugs as soon as they got there, and Rey left Poe to explain to Leia what had happened on Minfar while she went to find Liam.

"Sorry about that," she said sheepishly. "Things got a little out of hand."
