Jul. 31st, 2019 06:02 amRey left Luke alone for the night, and she let Chewie return to the Falcon to work. She slept on the stone bench outside Luke's hut, so by the time he left it in the morning, she was already waiting for him. He walked off without acknowledging her, and she followed, feeling triumphant when she finally earned a "go away" because it meant he'd spoken to her. Progress!
She followed Luke throughout his day. One might call it outright stalking. He didn't talk to her, except once.
"Is this like a thing where you're pretending to ignore me but secretly teaching me lessons?" Rey had asked.
He replied, "Is it not."
And at the end of the day, Luke retreated back behind the X-wing door, and Rey slept out on the bench again. If he'd bothered to listen to her at all he'd know she'd waited for fourteen years, this was nothing for her.
