Blackwood Grove- Saturday morning
So, that had been a good week.
Rey could tell immediately upon waking up that the pollen was gone. That halfway buzzing feeling was gone, and she was relieved but also a little sorry about it, even if they didn't exactly need it.
And despite all the closeness this week, she snuggled a little closer to Adrian, because even if she was awake and actually a little hungry, she didn't want to be apart yet. Sure, there were things that she'd needed to do that had gone wholly ignored and she should get to them, but it wasn't like real life was going anywhere.
She'd also historically not had a reason to automatically remember what this weekend tended to be, but it should register in a bit.

All of which to say, he was onboard with Rey's idea of snuggling for a little while longer, dropping a sleepy kiss on the top of her head and wrapping his arms around her more tightly. "Mornin'," he murmured softly.
He hadn't had kids last year, so any links between events were completely unknown to him. He was about to learn, though.

Ehhhhhhh....

She did pull away sooner than intended, because now that her head was clear, she could say, "I think there's someone outside, though."
no subject
Why would it? It recognized Blackwoods, after all.

"Oh. It's the weekend with the kids, isn't it?" she realized. "We should get dressed."
no subject
"The kids...?"
No, don't get dressed, Rey! He'd had plans!
Well, okay, he'd more had half-conceived ideas, but he'd really liked the way they had been shaping up!
no subject
"...you've never been through the kids, have you?" Rey said. "Alternate universes. They might be ours. Or just yours. Or mine. It's always kind of a surprise."
She'd only ever had one that made any sense to her so she was a little apprehensive.

She came around to his side of the bed to give him a kiss. "We should see who it is."
no subject
"Okay," he agreed, tugging her back in for a slightly longer kiss. Not trying to start anything! Just...he was grateful that she was here.
For so many reasons, really.
"And maybe start some breakfast," he agreed, leveraging himself out of the bed, too. "Which, either way, we should probably be dressed for."
no subject
Yes she could.

"Adrian!" Boston called from the foot of the stairs that led up to the loft. "Adrian, you're going to want to come down quickly!"

And it always felt weird having to greet kids with, "Hello," but here she was.
no subject
"Mom! Dad!" The one whose hair wasn't in a complex style of braids under her hat looked up from where she'd been studying the other girl. "Why is the Grove different? Also, when did I get a sister?"
She gasped. "Oh! Oh! Is this a Luke-and-Leia thing? Were we separated at birth?"
no subject
This was more then she'd bargained for by stepping through a weird portal, see.
no subject
"We could've been! You don't know! Dad didn't know he had a dad for years and years!"
no subject
Okay, so this was a whole lot. He was also looking to Rey for answers. Or instructions. "I mean, I did know? I just never...well, thought about it, I suppose."
Possibly something for him to consider? But later, when there weren't two children on his porch calling him Dad. He turned to the darker haired one. The one who'd inherited his
plot-relevantcurls. "It's real, at least for the weekend."However this worked!

"I would never separate sisters," Rey promised. "Fandom's a little strange, and sometimes people from different universes meet. I think that's what happened here. We're parents to both of you?"
no subject
no subject
"We haven't met you yet," Rey said, feeling some complicated things about that 'yet' but she wasn't about to give a kid an existential crisis. "There will be some things we don't know. But we'd love to learn."
The dad thing, for instance, she was guessing.
