"I'm fine," Summer insisted, and genuinely, too, not that dismissive sort of attempt to convince people otherwise. "I have shit to do on the weekends and a therapist and careers to work on, and he...."
She faltered a little in the small rant, once again up against the thing she'd been trying and trying so hard to figure out a more gracious way of saying it, but still kept coming up short, so there was another sigh and a shake of her head as she just said the only thing she did keep coming to:
"Doesn't. It's just...like...me."
Which, like, hell yeah, great for the ego, but man was it exhausting being the center of someone's universe on top of everything else you wanted from the multiverse.
