The Millennium Falcon- Tah'Nuhna- Sunday

The rest of the mission had gone smoothly enough at least, dropping off the last of the supplies on Tah'Nuhna and leaving some down time before Rey and Duke had to go to Fandom. And since Duke had had a normal person's reaction to getting caught in space battles (Rey used to have those!) and she wasn't just going to leave him to go train or whatever, this had all led to Finn telling them to head to the Falcon and he'd meet them there.

So Rey took a seat at the dejarik table, the faint sounds of Chewie banging away on something further away in the ship to repair some damage that was done yesterday ringing through the lounge, and said, "I have no idea what this is."

"That seems fair to me," Duke said. "You established your boundaries, so now it's establishing its own."

"Which is fine until you need to get to the ration bars," Rey said, making a face. "I'm getting practice calming animals down, though."

[betterthanaplan]

"Ration bars?" Duke repeated, looking faintly appalled. "Tell me those are only for emergencies."

[thatwaslucky]

"Yes, but right now it's all we can get sometimes," Rey said. "They're actually pretty good."

Finn was shaking just head. "They're rubber."

"You're coming by Luke's when we get back," Duke told her. "Your palate clearly needs further development."

[thatwaslucky]

"I mean, I will," she said, because she would never turn down food, "but I swear they're good."

The reasons Rey did not turn down food and why she thought ration bars were good were very much linked.

[betterthanaplan]

"I'm sure they're very filling." Duke was well aware of why she didn't turn down food, yeah. "And I'm glad to hear the porgs haven't' just eaten all of them themselves."

Possibly because porgs had more refined palates than Rey did.

And with that, Rey realized exactly the same thing that the narrative was saying.

"...Yeah, I'll definitely come to Luke's."

Duke chuckled. "Glad to hear it. I'll make sure you get something special."
