MCA #1- Monday morning
The worst part about someone having a direct line to you in the Force was that it didn't matter what you were doing. One minute she was making breakfast and the next, there was that absence of everything and she wasn't even thinking about that anymore.
"I don't want to talk to you," Rey said immediately. She remembered what Summer had said about things being on her terms, but that wasn't so easy in this particular situation. Especially when she seemed to be giving him the chance to talk this time.
"What if I wanted to talk to you?" Kylo asked, and his voice was so devoid of emotion that she couldn't tell if he was asking hypothetically or not. Again, he at least didn't seem surprised by any of this, though she wasn't sure she did, either. She probably just looked pissed.
Of course she couldn't read any emotion into what he was feeling, either, which made her wonder what she was giving off.
...She was surprised the scar she'd given him hadn't started fading yet.
"Are you still razing planets that don't agree with you?" Rey asked.
"I'm doing what needs to be done."
"That's not what you're doing," she argued.
"Then what am I doing?"
"You're lashing out."
There was a flash of something across that bond that almost felt like pity, because of course he was lashing out. It was what he did. She just didn't think of him that way because what, hed'd been nice to her, some of the time?
That was as far as she got before the smoke alarm started going off, and she was jarred our if the connection and into dealing with the smoking pan that hadn't even been burning, which was a good cover for the weird realization that she mostly just felt sad now.
[Conversation NFB but can be open after.]
