Ajan Kloss- Wednesday

It had taken way too long for Rey to realize that if she and Silver wanted to go visit Ajan Kloss, they could. Having a centralized base meant there wasn't anything stopping them from going back for a few days just because without anyone calling Rey back specifically to do something.

Which wasn't to say this was a vacation. Rey still had training- and it'd probably been too long since she'd done this with Leia anyway- and if either of them looked idle for too long someone would put them to work doing something or other. But still, it was nice to be on a planet they both liked, among friends, for a bit. Even with the humidity.

She'd gone up to the Falcon to get a little bit of time to herself, fixing up a spot in the corridor that had been damaged by porgs, and then decided she'd actually prefer company. "John?" she called down the landing ramp. "Can you help me with this?"

"I will do my best," Silver said, making his way up the ramp. "What's going on?"

"Can you hand me that spanner down there?"

You know, the one about a foot away from her that was clearly an excuse to get him on board.

"Bold of you to assume I know what that looks like," he said, chuckling. He picked up something that was spanner-ish looking to him and handed it over. "Working hard?"

"I was. I'm about finishing up," she said, taking the tool to tweak something in the wall. "I figured I would grab you before anyone else did."

"I appreciate it," he said with a smile. "You tend to give me easier jobs to do than the rest of these people."

"Sorry about that," Rey smiled. "I think they get excited at having more help."

"Don't apologize, I like that they think I can help," Silver said, waving a hand. "Whether or not I actually can is a different story."

"As long as you're willing, that's what matters," she told him, shutting the panel she'd been working in.

"I suppose so." Although he knew when things got really rough him being mostly useless was going to be a hinderance. "How do the porgs manage to get in there?"

"Talent?" Rey shrugged. "I think it's the babies a lot of the time. They learn to chew on everything early."

"They're lucky they're kind of cute." When they weren't infesting everything, that is.

"That's Chewie's stance too, though he won't say it," Rey smiled. "Meanwhile Rose named them all."

He lifted an eyebrow. "How can she tell them apart?"

[thatwaslucky]

"She has her ways," Rey said, shaking her head. "If I was around them more I could probably tell through the Force, but I always feel badly when I call one by the wrong name in front of her."

Silver laughed. "That's actually good to know. I think I won't call them by their names. 'Porg' will do."

"And you probably won't need to call them anything except to tell them 'stop doing that.'"

Imagine what they could make nests of.

"Fair," he said, leaning against one of the walls of the ship. "I'm glad we came here. I did miss the place."

"Me too," she admitted. "It feels strange to ask if there's anything you definitely want to do here before we leave."

Since it wasn't really a tourist area.

"Not in particular, no," he said, shaking his head. "I'm just enjoying the change of scenery, mostly."

"Even with the weather?" Rey teased, reaching up to play with his hair.

[long_memory]

He smiled. "You don't seem to mind too much."

Then again, there was something amusing that the weather here made his hair look like a poodle's.

"It's not cold, I don't mind this at all," she reasoned.

And the poodle hair was cute.

"Your hair is more manageable than mine," he said. "And yours is up more than mine is, so I think that helps."

"You could wear it up if it bothers you," Rey said. "Though then I can't play with it."

"It's not worth putting it up in that case," he said.
