By the time Rey got back to the island, it was too late for the bar. She also could have taken five seconds to drop her bag off at her place, but since that was literally all she would do there, she didn't want to waste her time when she could just go straight across the hall instead.

She wasn't entirely sure what she'd find, whether Silver would be home yet or awake, but she was glad to see him there when she opened the door, greeting him with a, "Hi again."

Silver hadn't been lying when he said he didn't tend to sleep well by himself anymore. He probably would have been awake for a few more hours if she hadn't shown up.

"Hey," he said with a smile. "You're back."

"I am," she said, closing the door and dropping her bag there so she could head over to him right away. "Just got in."

"I was losing hope," he joked, meeting her halfway so he could pull her into a hug. "Though maybe you liked it there too much and decided to stay."

"I would never," she said, holding him back tightly. "And definitely not without trying to drag you there with me."

"That's very reassuring, I appreciate it" he said. "How was your trip?"

"Good," she said. "I learned a lot. Have no idea what I'm doing once training is done. And I spent the weekend in a palace."

It was very weird for her!

"Oooh very fancy," he said, pulling away slightly. "Did you like living in the lap of luxury?"

"No. It's strange and apparently half the people living there want to kill each other at any given point in time," she told him.

"That...actually historically lines up with the royalty where I'm from," he admitted. "I thought you were there for Jedi things? Aren't they supposed to be above all that?"

"She was born royalty," Rey explained. "She had to take over leading sixty-four planets when her mother died, and since she couldn't devote all her time to the Jedi she had to resign from that."

"That's...a lot," he said. "But you said you did learn stuff this weekend?"

"I did. Master Skywalker wanted me to find out about how they trained, so I got to hear about that, and how they balance the Jedi thing and their personal lives, and all the problems anyone has ever had with their current Jedi Order."

That was going to leave Rey with a lot to think about for a long time.

He laughed a little, because it sounded like she spent much of the weekend listening to people bitching. At least she had got something out of it. "Anybody get embarrassingly drunk?"

"Jaina. Though I'm not sure she was very embarrassed. After about an hour she had to stand up to say whatever it was because it was very important, like the other two of us weren't paying attention," Rey smiled.
