Rey's warehouse- Tuesday morning

Things hadn't exactly gotten easier after the weekend, though Rey at least thought she was doing a decent job faking it, even if she was quieter and prone to jumping for distractions. And today she was sort of sharing that, since Silver had agreed to come watch her train.

Even if with all this new information she felt a little like training was setting herself and everyone else for something terrible down the line, but she hadn't quite gotten around to talking about that internal crisis.

"So," she said, once she'd let them into the warehouse. "What would you like to see me do?"

Silver wasn't a total idiot; he could tell something was bothering Rey. But she gave him his privacy when it came to this sort of stuff, and he was happy to offer the same in return. So he would distract, if that was what was going to help.

"Well I'm always impressed by the wall climbing." Mostly because he couldn't do that even before he lost the leg.

"That's my favorite part," Rey admitted, glancing at the course. "I can do that."

"What makes it your favorite?" he asked. "I doubt it's the view, since that's my favorite part."

He got a little smile for that.

"I don't know. I had to do it on Jakku all the time. It's just one of those things I don't really need to think about much now."

"I can understand that," he said with a nod. "Though I'm sure Anakin has thought of some ways to make it more challenging for you."

"Yes," she said, emphatic. "Climbing with a lightsaber in hand, climbing while remotes shoot at me, he changed the handholds, he's got me trying to walk back down it..."

"Oooh that sounds fun," he joked.

"The last thing is terrifying," Rey admitted. "I've almost fallen on my face a few times. But I like a challenge."

"I know you do," he said with a smile. "And I am sure you are dexterous enough to avoid falling completely on your face."

"We'll see. It might ruin today if I need the clinic," she said.

"It'd be exciting," he teased. "But I have more faith in you than that."

There was the briefest of pauses at that, and maybe she'd really needed to hear that, teasing or not.

"Would you also like to see me get shot at or anything while climbing?"

"You know what? I'll pass on seeing you get shot," he said. "Something about that doesn't appeal to me."

No kidding.

"All right," she told him, going in for a kiss. "I'll see you from the top."

"Good luck," he said, kissing her. Maybe if she was busy with wall climbing he could smoothly ask her about the weekend without it being too obvious.

Rey smiled, and pulled a crate over for him with the Force in case he wanted to sit.

And then she went over to the wall, where she had to do a little hop to reach the handholds so she could start pulling herself up and find her footing.

"Thank you," he said, sitting down on the crate. "There's no way I could distract you too badly, right?"

"Why, are you planning to try?" she asked, making her way up the wall.

Enjoy the view.

Oh, he was enjoying it. "Just checking to make sure I don't need to sit in silence."

"You can talk," Rey assured him. "Distraction is part of my training anyway."

"Makes sense," he said. "I talked to Anakin the other night, apparently his ghost hit him with a stick?"

"Really? I didn't hear about that," she said.

Which was a shame, Rey would have loved to meet Yoda.

"Yeah, it was one of his old teachers, apparently," Silver said. "Didn't realize Jedi teaching involved being hit with a stick."

"Might depend on the teacher," Rey said. "I only ever got hit by a stick by Luke once."

In his defense, it was funny.

"Did you have it coming?" he teased.
