Ajan Kloss- Tuesday
Rey had not expected to be gone as long as she had, but one simple supply run had turned into an ordeal with the First Order, and then the boys had been sent on a mission straight from there, and she'd felt the need to stick around until she saw them come back safely. Meanwhile she'd been there on Ajan Kloss, training and studying, making progress on building her lightsaber, and trying not to feel uncomfortable with sitting around waiting. She was very good at waiting. She didn't know when that had started to bother her.
It'd been fine. Finn, Poe and Chewie had been back about a day now, and it was time to go back to Fandom. She was packing up the books into the crate she tended to use to lug them back and forth sometimes, while BB-8 beeped his way around in her workspace.
"There he is!"
Rey looked up from her crouched position to see Poe greeting BB-8, who rolled over to say hello. "He's been keeping me company while you three were gone," she told him.
"Yeah, he's great for that," Poe said fondly, then frowned when he saw what she was doing. "You're leaving already?"
"Already? It's been two weeks," she said, resuming her work in packing. "I have to get back. I'm sure one person is worried I've really gone this time."
"Feels like we barely saw you."
Rey shrugged. It wasn't entirely true, she'd been with them at the start. She still wanted more time. But her responsibilities were split, and she had less of those here than she did in Fandom right now. Not by choice, but she was going along with it. "You were all busy."
Poe paused, and nodded, and said, "Why don't you take BB-8 with you?"
Rey asked, "What?" at the same time BB-8 beeped the same question.
"You spend too much time alone," he said. "We don't need you getting all weird and isolated."
She stood, frowning. "He's your droid."
"And he's still my droid. This is temporary. Temporary," he said firmly. "But maybe you could both use the company."
Rey looked at BB-8. BB-8's dome swiveled towards Rey.
"If you're really okay with it," she said slowly, "I wouldn't exactly mind having him around."
"Then it's settled," Poe said. "But seriously. I'm gonna want him back."
