D'qar- even later Saturday

Chewie thankfully knew where they were supposed to go, to the Resistance base on a planet called D'qar, and upon landing, Rey was left with nothing to do. Finn was rushed off the ship for immediate medical attention, and she trailed behind, not sure if she should follow, or if there was somewhere else she should go, and mostly what she wanted to do right now was to find somewhere to curl up and cry herself to sleep for three days. There were plenty of people around, but it wasn't like anyone was paying attention to this new girl none of them had ever seen before.

Except for one older woman, who saw her standing apart from everyone and immediately started moving towards her instead. This was Leia. Rey couldn't explain how she knew that, but she did. This was Han's estranged wife, whose son had just killed him. Rey wondered if she would have to tell her what happened, but there was something about her expression that said she already knew.

Leia silently pulled her into a hug, and Rey wasn't quite sure who it was for more.

She was given quarters. After everything, she'd needed some time alone, to get some rest, and to think. And once she'd done that, Leia had come by for a talk that lasted for probably much longer than either of them had expected, and by the end of it, Rey had a job to do. A way to help the Resistance. Maybe a way to help herself.

She wanted to call Kanan, especially since she realized she'd missed the weekly call. He'd offered to help her before, back when Force sensitivity was just some crazy idea he'd had about skills she could still rationalize away. Unfortunately, her phone was back on Jakku, a place she wasn't sure she'd ever see again. She also wouldn't know what to say. "Hey, you were right, I got tortured and beat a patricidal maniac in a lightsaber fight and I don't know what I'm doing, no I can't come back there yet, I'm hanging around the Resistance you don't know about yet and have to find a long lost Jedi Master," was a terrible phone call.

So she'd wait. She had a feeling if she was meant to go to him about it, she would find a way.

And in the meantime she'd take a far longer shower than was necessary before going to check in on Finn, just because she could.
