The Millennium Falcon at the scrapyard- Friday early afternoon
Rey had always hated Parents Weekend. She'd been a universe away, unable to get home, but every year she'd hoped that maybe, just maybe, her family would find her here. It was Fandom, anything was possible.
Of course they never did, and Rey didn't have any hope for that anymore.
But. This year, she had people coming for her. She probably should have waited for them at the mixer with everyone else, but she couldn't wait, and watched till she saw the Falcon flying in that she ran over to meet them there. And the second Finn was down the landing ramp, he was getting the biggest hug.
It'd been weeks.
[Mostly for me, but open ifyouve git a reason to be here!]

People really should be jealous of their hugs. They were good.
"You look the same," he said, not sure why he sounded surprised. It hadn't been that long, but he liked co formation that she hadn't changed while she'd been out here, learning things he didn't understand.

It'd been an interesting trip here, since Finn couldn't understand Chewbacca and Threepio wasn't here. It was probably a wonder Finn was here in one piece.

There was something about this ship, the same one she and Finn had stolen the time she'd left her home for probably the last time, where she'd met Han and Chewie, which had held the last of the Resistance at their worst moment, that felt like coming home in a way that nothing else ever had.
"How's everyone?" she asked, still marveling a little at being able to ask that question.

He went into expressive detail about what they'd been doing since Rey left, how Leia had put out the call for her agents scattered across the galaxy to start setting things up, and how one of those had already come through enough to at least give them time to regroup somewhere other than on the Falcon, and he added specifics on where people had ended up at the moment, just because Rey might want to know.

It was a far cry from the man who'd tried to run on Takodana, who'd lied about everything just to get out and that was it, who Rose had admitted wanting to throttle because he'd spent their whole adventure just trying to help Rey.
(Rey felt all sorts of things about that last part.)

Time moved faster for Rey, so he might talk to her a couple times a day when he could, and he was up on what was happening. But if he had her here in front of him, he wanted to be sure.

She meant it, too. There were people she missed- mostly him- and she wanted to be doing more to help, but she had to get the powers stuff under control. This was the best place to do that, and the time difference actually worked in her favor there.
And... she didn't hate it here.
