MCA's holosuite Room- Wednesday evening

Rey had lived here nearly a year and had never really considered the holosuite room on the main floor. She'd just never needed it. At least until today, when there was supposed to be a ~~badly needed even if everything was totally fine shut up~~ movie night and none of the participants had the equipment needed to actually have one.

Programming the room into a theater was easy enough, though when it came to actually picking a movie., it seemed to be stuck on Lifetime. This was probably fine?

"Explosions don't hold your attention?" he asked. "I'm surprised the alarm last weekend bothered you in that case."

"I have enough explosions in real life," Rey admitted. "And the worst part of the alarm was the timing."

She'd be crabby about everything then.

"No offense but you don't strike me as the type to be around explosions." The only woman he could picture like that was Anne Bonny, who most likely would cause the explosion herself.

"What type do I strike you as?" Rey wondered.

Silver tilted his head, like he was really putting some thought into the question. "You strike me as the epitome of a good person."

"Thank you," she said, cheeks going a little pink at that. And she explained, "There's a war going on at home. I've been helping. There are a lot more explosions than I'd counted on."

"I'm sorry to hear that," he said. "It's for a good cause, I hope?"

He was part of a war whose cause he didn't really believe in and it was a miserable experience all around.

"We're trying to stop a would-be empire from subjugating the galaxy. It's always strange to explain it like that."

It was not a normal thing to say!

"It's a lot to take in, I'll admit," Silver said. "But the heart of it is not wholly unknown to me. Wars have been fought to prevent tyranny since the dawn of time."

"Exactly. This is just in space," she said.

"Well I hope you stay safe," he said. "I have the feeling neighbors like you are hard to come by."

"Thank you," she smiled. "You can say that because you missed the time before I had a warehouse to train in."

She'd flipped into that wall a lot.

"What kind of training do you do?" he asked. "I've only known one man who actually had training for battle. The rest of us just flail swords around and hope for the best."

And they were usually drunk when they did it.

"Have you heard of Jedi yet?" Rey asked.

"Should I have?" That would be a no.

"There are a few around here from time to time," she told him, and tried to remember how other people seemed to describe it. "It's like... a warrior space monk."

She felt like she'd probably gotten that from Duke?

That was quite possibly one of the oddest things he had ever heard.

"And you're one of these...warrior space monks?"

"No. But I'm trying to be someday," Rey said.

"Hence the training," he said with a nod. "I'm not sure I entirely understand it but warrior space monk does seem like an interesting profession."

"Honestly, I don't understand it all either," Rey admitted, smiling. "Hopefully I will once I'm done."

At least she could admit it.

"I appreciate the honesty," he said, chuckling. "And the optimism."

"I wouldn't get very far without it." Well, that and all the repression. "You still handle hearing about this sort of thing really well."

"I'm good at adapting to new situations," he said, glancing down at his leg. "For better or for worse."

"It's a good quality to have," Rey agreed. "Hopefully more for better."

"Again with that optimism," Silver teased. "I might come out of this movie night with a brighter frame of mind."

Well...probably not after watching the trials and tribulations of the lady in the Lifetime movie.
