MCA's holosuite Room- Wednesday evening

Rey had lived here nearly a year and had never really considered the holosuite room on the main floor. She'd just never needed it. At least until today, when there was supposed to be a ~~badly needed even if everything was totally fine shut up~~ movie night and none of the participants had the equipment needed to actually have one.

Programming the room into a theater was easy enough, though when it came to actually picking a movie., it seemed to be stuck on Lifetime. This was probably fine?

"That does sound like a problem, yes," Rey nodded, handing him a cup.

"She should go with the flashy businessman with the heart of gold," he confided, taking the cup. "Thank you."

"What's the other option?" she asked.

"Essentially the same man only lacking the heart of gold. I'm admittedly having some difficulty telling them apart." Oh, Lifetime.

"They both look alike," she noticed.

Or maybe they were both too bland to tell?

"I think one has blue eyes and the other green?" Might have been the lighting, though.

"Maybe she'd be better off alone," Rey suggested.

"Oh, undoubtedly! But this is a romance."

"But if none of the options are worth it..."

Choose yourself, Lifetime movie heroine.

But she had to pick the bland one who the music selected as the better choice!

"It could always end in tragedy," he suggested thoughtfully.

"How so?" she asked, finally taking a seat.

Put your storytelling to use!

"Well," he said, sitting up to properly set the scene. "Perhaps, just as she has chosen between the two men, she rushes to confess her feelings and is struck down by the gods for daring to be happy."

"I don't like that," Rey decided.

'Thanks, I hate it' was a big mood right now.

"It's meant to be tragic and heartbreaking!"

"I don't know if I'm the person for tragic and heartbreaking," Rey considered, not knowing she had a makeout-turned-death in her future.

That was tragic in a different way.

"So, we should stick to happier stories for you."

"Yes," she decided after a moment. "I like the happier ones."

"In stories like this one," he said, gesturing to the TV. "Everything is wrapped up in a neat little bow."

He knew this because he knew story structure.

"Which isn't realistic," Rey mused.

"Tragedy is realistic," Jaskier replied. "Pain is realistic."

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean I have to like that stuff," Rey said.

"Hence our utterly ridiculous movie! Personally, I think she ought to sleep with them both to make sure." Of course he'd think that.

"And how would that help her in the long run?"

Oh, Rey.

SWEET, SUMMER CHILD.

"Well, for one she'd have a better time of it."

She was so young sometimes!

"And it might make the movie more interesting," she allowed.
