MCA Holosuite Room- Monday evening

Since Rey was the one who knew how to actually program the holosuite, she got to the room early to set it up, determined to get something better than last time's "romance."

It was not to be! Not only was she not able to get the theater setup of last week back, meaning the seating today was a beanbag sofa, but the only movie she could get was something called Death in a Fence 3D, the sequel to a mildly successful horror movie that was… about a killer fence?

"This room is broken," Rey decided.

It was definitely shot in 3D and was not currently airing in 3D, which meant the opening sequence of the movie, wherein a girl got impaled on a killer fence somehow, just looked awkward. And would have been really unnecessary in theaters.

Between the one leg and the rum someone was definitely going to have to help Silver out of this beanbag chair at the end of the night.

"I don't know, I'm already liking this movie better than the last one."

"Everyone in this definitely makes worse decisions than the last one," Rey said.

And those decisions ended in a lot of blood.

"Yes but the consequences of their bad decisions are so much more fun to watch," he said. "I've seen people killed by many things but a fence is new."

"I have so little experience with fences that I never knew they were a threat," Rey noted wryly.

"Anything can be a threat if you try hard enough." Including a peg leg!

Look, it got people talking!

"That phrasing was only slightly worrying," she said teasingly.

"Let's just say I wasn't always the even keeled bartender you see before you," Silver said amicably.

"Well, pirate," she acknowledged. She wasn't sure she wanted details, but she could make some assumptions.

"Exactly," he said with a nod. "Sort of in the job description. Never assaulted anybody with any kind of lawn fixture though."

It'd be Rey helping him. Silver had to know that, right?

"Is it the murderous fencing that does it for you?"

Oh he was fully aware it would be Rey helping him while Jaskier stood and watched. He was under no illusions about that.

"I do find it pretty amusing," he said. "I appreciate the creativity."

He might provide helpful commentary too!

"I have to admit, it does feature a certain level of creative thought to come up with." He didn't have to like it, though.

"Are you not a fan of these types of movies?" Silver asked.

"As this is the first of it's kind that I've seen so far, I cannot judge. Much." He was still judging.

"Come on, you have to admit this is better than the trash we watched last time." Silver didn't like romance, okay? It made him feel things and he didn't like it.

"Romance has a certain beauty to it, though!" Jaskier was all about those terrible, terrible feelings. It was his jam.

"It's so unrealistic though." Yes, he found a killer fence more realistic than happy endings.

"Well, I suppose the storyline may be better?" Jaskier ventured, deeply, deeply confused by the 3D thing.

"You think?" asked Rey, who wasn't sure about that.

He watched as the fence menaced an attractive blonde woman. "Well. I said it 'may' be?"

"I might end up happy with it as long as no one lives happily ever after with the fence."

Her standards had dropped so low.

"...that has merits, though." A horror romance? YES PLEASE.

"The fence is a serial killer."

Maybe if it repented and was really sorry.

And wore unreasonably high pants!

"Which is an issue, yes," he admitted.

Which may have partly been a bandage? WHO KNEW.

"I'm pretty sure at least a couple characters in this could do better."
