MCA #1- Monday morning

Thinking about it, Rey didn't get hit with the embarrassing Fandom stuff too much. It was usually stuff where she could stay herself and roll with. So spending a weekend as a prince-obsessed clean freak in front of her boyfriend wasn't too embarrassing in general, but it was embarrassing to her, so she was just planning on maybe staying in today. And training indoors. Maybe being boring enough that the squirrel she totally knew was there would leave.

At least she thought that until at one point the squirrel produced a top hat and made a "tah dah" gesture like she was supposed to pick up a cue.

"I'm not in the mood for singing today," she told him.

Ever see a squirrel sulk? Because that's what Rey had to deal with today.

Silver was still sporting the braids the chipmunks gave him when he made his way across the hall to Rey's. He knocked on the door lightly. "It's me."

"It's open," she called, only wincing a little, and shooting the squirrel away.

Which would probably not help its disappointment.

Silver let himself in, happy to see Rey wasn't surrounded by singing wildlife. "How are you feeling this morning?"

See, squirrel? It was good she wasn't in a duet right now.

"Really sorry about that whole thing?" she said, sheepishly.

"What would you have to be sorry about?" he asked. "It's not like you had any control of your actions."

"It's still embarrassing," Rey pointed out.

"At least you were in good company," he said. "It would be far more embarrassing if it had been just you."

[thatwaslucky]

"This is true," Rey conceded. "I don't know how many others had the whole... prince fixation."

She still didn't know what that had been about.

"There was a lot of focus on prince and princesses," he said. "I'm sorry I couldn't be the prince you were looking for."

"You said you were a king! Apparently I couldn't jump the line, or whatever!"

There were rules, Silver! Arbitrary rules!

He laughed. "Well I wasn't lying, I was elected to be a king. Just not the type of king that princesses marry."

Which wasn't necessarily true, since Madi was a princess of a sort.

"What does that entail, exactly?" Rey wondered, since the king thing actually hadn't come up before in that many words.

But at least she'd finally walk over to him since he wasn't upset about the stupid, stupid weekend.

"Basically it means everything is done in my name and what I say goes," he said, moving to put his arms around her. "I don't get a crown or anything."

"You'd look very handsome in one, though," she said with a tiny smile, relaxing into him. "That sounds simple enough, at least."

"It doesn't really require a lot of work on my end." Except, you know, the whole moral dilemma of sending people to their death regularly.

"Did you ever end up finding a prince?" he asked.

"Nope. No happily ever after for me this weekend." So sad. She'd sung about it.

He smiled. "Can't say I'm too upset about that."

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm not either. You're much better than some boring prince," she said, kissing him lightly.

"Thank you," he said with a smile. "Thanks for cleaning my apartment, by the way."

Okay he had to get a little teasing in.

"It wasn't even dusty," she said plaintively.

[long_memory]

"But you were nice enough to do it anyway," he said, chuckling. "With your little woodland friends."

[thatwaslucky]

"You're having too much fun with this."

Like she wouldn't if their positions were reversed.

"I am having the exact right amount of fun with this," he said. "If it makes you feel any better I had chipmunks braiding my hair."

"Honestly it does," she said, reaching to touch one of the braids. "They did a really good job, for birds."

"Beats doing it myself. I usually get it all tangled," he said. "I'll just have to get you to do it next time I want one."
