Rey had said she would go on more missions, and when one happened to coincide with a quiet week in town, of course she had to go.

While it hadn't been easy by any measure, it had been a success. She set the Falcon down in its spot in the clearing that served as a landing area, and let Finn and Poe usher their rescued diplomat off the ship and off to the infirmary area for treatment, while she got everything shut down. Once she did, she stepped down the landing ramp to see if anyone was waiting.

"Is that so?" Rey said, feigning innocence.

"Well, it wouldn't be the first time I had been asked to do the talking," he said.

"It is a talent," she pointed out, stepping onto the ship to head to the cabins.

"I do have one or two," he said. "We better move quick before someone grabs you to talk about important business."

That seemed to happen a lot.

"We can move quick," Rey told him, doing so, "and obviously I'm too busy to stop."

Silver laughed softly. "We both have to look like we have important business to conduct."

[thatwaslucky]

"Right," she said, forcing a very serious frown. "This is very serious business. If only we had datapads for this."

They were basically at her/their quarters anyway.

"Frowning and walking fast should do the trick." And, yes, they were close to their quarters anyway so it wouldn't last for long.

"And we're clear," Rey said, opening the door for him once they got there.

"See, it worked even without the datapads," Silver said, stepping into the room.

[thatwaslucky]

"The serious faces did it," Rey said, closing the door behind them. "We earned our privacy."

"I think it's more you've earned your privacy," he said. "I just kind of stood around."

"You helped me, that's no small matter," she told him.

[long_memory]

"Not as impressive though," he said, moving to sit on the bed. The prosthetic was comfortable, but it still could be a pain to stand for long periods of time like he had been.

"You know I'm not going to agree with you," Rey said, going to sit next to him. "I find most of what you do pretty impressive."

[long_memory]

"Well thank you," he said, laughing lightly. "I actually prefer to be in the background, to be honest. Not as much pressure, and you can get away with more stuff."

"I completely understand that. Though you're getting away with very different things than I ever did," she smiled.

"Benefits of just being some guy and not a Jedi," he joked.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'm still some girl."

She was not. Hadn't been for a while.

[long_memory]

Silver lifted an eyebrow. "Didn't you just tell me people refer to you as their last hope?"

[thatwaslucky]

"That's their impression, not mine," she said.

[long_memory]

Silver shrugged a shoulder. "I'm used to other people's impressions of me being fact, I think."

Honestly, he had no real impression of himself. That'd be too much inward thinking.

"As fact?" she repeated.

[long_memory]

"Well, as fact depending on the current situation and what I need to accomplish," he said. "I actually don't think about who I am too often, so I'm not bothered by letting other people deciding and going from there."

That's how he fell ass backwards into the Long John Silver thing.

"So you fit into a role as opposed to the other way around," she said.
