Rey had said she would go on more missions, and when one happened to coincide with a quiet week in town, of course she had to go.

While it hadn't been easy by any measure, it had been a success. She set the Falcon down in its spot in the clearing that served as a landing area, and let Finn and Poe usher their rescued diplomat off the ship and off to the infirmary area for treatment, while she got everything shut down. Once she did, she stepped down the landing ramp to see if anyone was waiting.

Silver was waiting, of course. He apparently didn't pull off the worried waiting thing as calmly as others and hadn't been able to do much other than walk around with a frown on his face until Rey got back.

The look of relief on his face was evident by the time he saw Rey on the landing ramp.

She caught that, too.

But as soon as she saw him she was heading over towards him with the biggest smile on her face. "Hi."

"Hi," he said, smiling as well now that he could see for himself she was fine. "Everything go okay?"

"It got a little tough out there, but I think that's a jail break for you," she told him. "Maybe a new bruise or two, but we got through it just fine."

See! Look how okay she was!

"I'll be inspecting those bruises later," he said, moving forward to pull her into a hug. "I'm glad it went well."

"Me, too," she said, hugging him back. "Nothing to worry about."

Even if she appreciated that he did.

"I think we've been over this," he said lightly. "I'm going to worry regardless."

"I feel bad that you have to," she admitted, not letting go of him yet.

"You shouldn't," he assured her. "It would be strange if I didn't worry. I'm sure you would be the same if the situation were reversed."

The difference there being Silver did whatever he could to avoid such situations.

"Absolutely. Even though I'm sure you'd be able to handle it on your own anyway. Wouldn't matter."

He felt tricky like that.

"Exactly," he said. "Though prison breaks aren't something I do often as you do."

"You'd think I wouldn't make a habit of that and yet," she smiled.

"I think yours are extenuating circumstances," he said. "Presumably you are breaking good people out of bad prisons."

[thatwaslucky]

"Yes. And people who can hopefully help end the war." Because nothing everyone working out here was a good person.

"Hopefully," he repeated. "You think they're going to send you out again any time soon?"

[thatwaslucky]

"Probably, though I don't know how soon," she said. "There was a whole talk about me going out more."

"And that's something you want, right?" he asked. He didn't think they'd force Rey to go out there, but he wouldn't be surprised if someone laid a guilt trip.

"Yes," she said immediately. "I want to help. And Poe's right, I can do things others can't."

"That's an understatement," he said with a smile. "It would be a shame to not use all that training you've worked so hard on."

"It does keep me from getting rusty," she said lightly. "What if I'd forgotten how to mind trick a guard?"

She wouldn't. Kinda like riding a bike.

(Not that she'd ever ridden a bike.)

"Did you get to do that this time?" He always thought that was so cool.

[thatwaslucky]

"I did," she said. "I don't love it, but I'm very grateful for it."

"You use them very responsibly," he assured her. "I, on the other hand, would not."

"At least you're honest about it."

And it made her very glad he couldn't do it.

"If there's one thing I'm honest about, it's about how dishonest I can be," he joked. "So we should all be very thankful I'm not a Jedi."
