This was really Annie and Summer's party, that just so happened to take place in Rey's stupidly giant apartment. Still, even while she'd been told a lot of people might be coming, Rey was a little concerned no one actually would, and then she'd have to figure out what to do with just... a ridiculous amount of alcohol and so many inflatable reindeer. And packages for this thing had been showing up daily for a week, including as late as this afternoon, and after all of this, people had better show up.

There were so many Christmas lights around the place that the apartment lights weren't even on, Summer's Jello shots were very much on display, and while there was mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, it wouldn't force you to kiss anyone. (No, no, that's the alcohol's job.) It was jolly as hell up in here, and honestly loud enough that even if you decided to skip the party you'd probably have some idea of how it went.

Also Tino showed up like ten minutes early and was just kind of hanging around.

Faye would be out here smoking with the light up snowman and some of that real boozy punch, at least until she froze her legs off.

She didn't know, like, almost anyone here, anyway. Free booze was just free booze.

"How are you adjusting to the island?" Jessica asked as she took a break from all the happy people inside and enjoy a drink in quiet.

And maybe take off that ridiculous hat.

Faye, unlike some other people, was not going to stop her from taking off the hat. She only sort of understood what was up with the hats - and this snowman she was making friends with, and the glitter, and the tree, and anyway.

"I'm adjusting enough that I found this party," Faye non-answered with a little smile, offering out her pack of cigarettes. "Smoke?"

Jessica had been nice enough to share booze on Faye's very first day, after all, so she would actually share back.

"Pass," Jessica said pouring herself a drink. "No judgement. Just don't like the taste."

She took a sip and gave Faye a guarded look. "Did you find out if you're stuck here or..."

She left that open ended because what was really the alternative?

Faye shrugged lightly, lighting up a fresh cigarette for herself. "I got a job?" she answered. "So I guess I'm sticking myself here, even if I'm not totally, actually stuck."

Which meant she should probably stop living on her ship in denial.

Jessica made sure Annie wasn't looking around before finally taking off the hat. "It's not a horrible place. As long as you let the showers run a bit to make sure it's actually water first."

"What is that shit?" Faye asked, interestedly. "It's like the sweetest thing I've ever tasted."

Of course she had tasted the eggnog. She'd been told about mulled wine coming from the faucets, so she had to see, but the stuff hadn't seemed to be alcoholic.

"Egg nog," Jessica replied. "It's a fuck ton better with rum. I'm not a fan but it's fine in a pinch. You have holidays where you are from?"

Faye wobbled a hand back and forth. "Depends on the planet." And she hadn't been on a holiday-celebrating planet in a long time. "Definitely not like this, anyway. But I'm starting to learn that this place is maybe a little more - everything, than the average town."

"Yeah. This place is definitely extra," Jessica commented as she poured herself another drink. "But the weirdness has some merit. At least for now. If it pisses me off I'm out of here though."

And yes, she totally carried a bottle her from the bar.

"What's come the closest?" Faye wondered, sipping her punch. "Like has anything around here been actually annoying, or is it just fuzzy bears and shiny rain and makeout plants?"

She'd heard about invasions. Not actually something Faye necessarily considered a negative, though.

Jessica shrugged. "Haven't been here that long. Being a horse wasn't what I call fun," she admitted. "By the time this month is over I might change my mind."

"I hear we're in for it," Faye admitted. "Like just the sheer amount of shit happening to us might do me in."

Nah, she secretly liked it here.

"This is kind of fun, though. I thought the whole town was just like, cute photo spots and friendly neighbors. Didn't know the town had it in 'em to throw a party like this." Even if she didn't understand anything to do with the Santa hat insistence or the glitter.

"Yeah. Well the whole thing is a bit... cute," Jessica said looking back at all the inflatable reindeer. "But the nerds seem to know how to booze up around her when the situation calls for it."
