This was really Annie and Summer's party, that just so happened to take place in Rey's stupidly giant apartment. Still, even while she'd been told a lot of people might be coming, Rey was a little concerned no one actually would, and then she'd have to figure out what to do with just... a ridiculous amount of alcohol and so many inflatable reindeer. And packages for this thing had been showing up daily for a week, including as late as this afternoon, and after all of this, people had better show up.

There were so many Christmas lights around the place that the apartment lights weren't even on, Summer's Jello shots were very much on display, and while there was mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, it wouldn't force you to kiss anyone. (No, no, that's the alcohol's job.) It was jolly as hell up in here, and honestly loud enough that even if you decided to skip the party you'd probably have some idea of how it went.

Also Tino showed up like ten minutes early and was just kind of hanging around.

"Does it...roll?" Annie asked, twirling a finger in the air in a rolling motion.

Because a rolling robot sounded like one of the cutest things she'd ever heard of, but she also wasn't sure how that would work.

"His dome stays mostly stationary and the bottom part of him rolls, yes." He really was an adorable droid! "You might get to meet him at some point."

"Yeah? Are you expecting droid visitors?" Annie asked excitedly.

She'd been drinking, yes, but she also would just find that prospect exciting, anyway.

"Not specifically, but I'm sure he's going to make it for Parents Weekend sometime, and everyone is slowly meeting my friends from home anyway."

Her worlds were colliding and she loved it.

"I would love to meet a droid," Annie decided. "They're not really a thing where I'm from. I mean, we have like, normal robots, but not adorable-looking rolly ones."

Sometimes Annie watched those Boston Dynamics videos to freak herself out, but otherwise her world was pretty robot-light.

"There are a lot of different kinds where I'm from," Rey told her. "This kind helps fly spaceships."

She did kind of like saying that sort of thing to people from Earth.

"...how?" Annie wondered, now looking again at Rey's sweater. "Does he have little hands I'm not seeing?"

"Well, sort of," she said. "But they plug into these sockets on a starfighter and work from there."

"That is so much cooler than anything that a car can do." Seriously, Annie had thought it was neat when she and her mom had gotten a GPS for the Honda.

Rey didn't want to agree because she didn't actually know that much about cars and didn't want to be insulting, but she also loved the hell out of BB-8, so.

"Can we talk about how you're covered in bows?"

Annie twirled for effect, and added a little bob of her head at the end so Rey could appreciate that she jingled, too. "Do you think it's enough bows?"

Or enough...everything?

"You could maybe fit one or two more," Rey teased. "You come with sound effects."

"I can't sneak up on anyone," Annie agreed.

Annie, generally, did not sneak most of the time anyway.

"You have a glitter cannon, you weren't going to be doing that at all," Rey pointed out.
