This was really Annie and Summer's party, that just so happened to take place in Rey's stupidly giant apartment. Still, even while she'd been told a lot of people might be coming, Rey was a little concerned no one actually would, and then she'd have to figure out what to do with just... a ridiculous amount of alcohol and so many inflatable reindeer. And packages for this thing had been showing up daily for a week, including as late as this afternoon, and after all of this, people had better show up.

There were so many Christmas lights around the place that the apartment lights weren't even on, Summer's Jello shots were very much on display, and while there was mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, it wouldn't force you to kiss anyone. (No, no, that's the alcohol's job.) It was jolly as hell up in here, and honestly loud enough that even if you decided to skip the party you'd probably have some idea of how it went.

Also Tino showed up like ten minutes early and was just kind of hanging around.

"Lucky. My first time around, it was mulled wine. And I didn't realize until I stepped into the shower." So much for that super vampire sense of smell.

"At least that doesn't sound as...thick?" Faye offered, wincing all the same because ugh, Allie, your poor beautiful hair.

"Still sticky. Lesson learned." And one that had surprisingly stuck with her despite her years away from the island.

"So what have you been doing with your time on the island besides taking in the seasonal fun?"

"I got a job," Faye said, making it sound like something she had to confess. "So I guess that means I'm staying, for at least a little while."

"That's not such a bad thing," Allie promised. "Where's the job?"

"Wellspring. I'm selling guns." Faye looked way too pleased about this prospect.

As someone who appreciated her own deadly weapon, Allie could appreciate such a job. "Nice. I'm not a fan of guns myself. They were hard to come by where I came from. But I've got a katana that serves it's purpose nicely."

"Ooooh, a katana," Faye admired, eyes widening slightly. "Not my choice, but I've always thought highly of people who can use a blade."

Way more chance of hurting yourself with a sword, Faye thought, which was why she stayed away!

"It's a better weapon against a vampire. Bullets hurt, but even a perfect headshot would only slow one down for a while," she explained. "But if you take the head..." That should be self-explanatory.

Faye also stayed away from swords because she was squeamish, as evidenced by that face she just made. "Not a lot they can do without their head, I'd imagine," she replied, following along.

Surviving, even before she'd been turned, had killed any bit of squeamishness Allie had had, but she understood others might weren't as strange. "Nope. But weapons are definitely a personal choice. My brother preferred a fire ax. But for you? A gun is definitely a better choice."
