This was really Annie and Summer's party, that just so happened to take place in Rey's stupidly giant apartment. Still, even while she'd been told a lot of people might be coming, Rey was a little concerned no one actually would, and then she'd have to figure out what to do with just... a ridiculous amount of alcohol and so many inflatable reindeer. And packages for this thing had been showing up daily for a week, including as late as this afternoon, and after all of this, people had better show up.

There were so many Christmas lights around the place that the apartment lights weren't even on, Summer's Jello shots were very much on display, and while there was mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, it wouldn't force you to kiss anyone. (No, no, that's the alcohol's job.) It was jolly as hell up in here, and honestly loud enough that even if you decided to skip the party you'd probably have some idea of how it went.

Also Tino showed up like ten minutes early and was just kind of hanging around.

"Friendly vampire girl," Eric said, nodding. "And the amazing axe range, and on occasion, the moody Devil."

"I didn't try out the axe range when I visited," Faye noted. "Do you recommend it? More of a gun girl, usually."

"I enjoy it, and Amaya at the forge made us axes specifically for it," Eric said proudly.

"I might have to try it out, if it has bespoke axes," Faye teased lightly. "I've been to a lot of places on a lot of planets, but it's a rare establishment that welcomes drinking and violence together like that."

Or at least, the Nest was classier than the places that crossed those streams, in her usual experience.

"Well, the other bar has spells in place to specifically forbid violence," Eric said. "I'm a Viking, so drinking and sharp things just naturally go together."

At least until someone lost an eye/hand/leg.

"You seem very civilized for a Viking," Faye decided, giving him a once-over. Not that she knew next to anything about what a Viking was beyond what one was supposed to look like, basically.

"Why thank you," Eric said. "I've been around for a thousand years, so I have adapted."

"You also look great for a thousand," Faye agreed, not missing a beat. Look, she was just going with stuff at this point, and if it turned out some hot guy wanted to tell her a weird lie about being a millennia old, then whatever, let him. But she also knew it was probably true. "I wouldn't put you a day over nine hundred, really."

Eric smirked. "It's all thanks to a very strict moisturizing regimen and eating virgins."

"You know, I have heard that works miracles," Faye noted, nodding along. "Though I never seem to end up anywhere with a ready supply of virgins. Must be the company I keep."

"Well, virgins only last so long," Eric said with a little smirk.

"They're like the avocadoes of the people world," Faye agreed. "Super-limited window on those virgins."

Faye was not actually sure she even knew any virgins, beyond Edward and gross, time to stop even thinking down that path.

Eric laughed. "Do you squeeze virgins to be sure they're ready, too?"

"Just the lucky ones," Faye quipped with a smile.

That got her a genuine grin. "Exactly," Eric said. "Have you found the drinks yet?"

They weren't hard to find.

"Oh yeah." And she had helped herself to the punch, which had seemed self-explanatory, but. "What's up with the wobbly ones?"

"Jello shots," Eric said. "Alcohol and gelatin. Summer's pretty good at them." He pointed out Summer. "The red-head over there."

"They seem dangerous," Faye decided, fairly admiringly. "Like alcoholic candy."

...basically, yeah.

"That's what they are," Eric said. "Summer's are more elaborate than most."
