MCA #1- Wednesday evening

For whatever reason, the Skywalker-Solos- including adoptees- had rough Augusts. Rey herself had lost four people in that month a couple years apart. Which was why in talking to Anakin, they'd decided maybe they needed to get people together for some commiseration. Also drinking.

Rey didn't have people over very often but it wasn't like there was a ton of stuff to clean in her stupid-giant apartment. As long as the kitchen worked and there were places to sit (the furniture was mostly mermaid!) it was probably fine.


[For said Skywalker-Solos. Because we have spent a lot, a lot of years being mean.]

"That bed is amazing," Luke said with an earnest smile.

He kind of wanted one.

"There seems to always be a bit of a power struggle on who gets it when someone stays over," she admitted.

"How do they decide?" Luke asked, smiling. "Please say there's a contest."

"No contests but maybe next Parents Weekend," Rey said thoughtfully.

"I think that would be the fairest and most entertaining way," Luke told her with a nod.

"I'll tell them you said it," she said. "It'll hold more weight."

[tatooine_doofus]

Luke laughed. "Because they respect my opinion?"

"Yes. You're kind of a big deal back there."

Or he had been! August strikes again!

Luke felt the conflict within her and send back a wave of reassurance through the Force.

"I'm at best a medium deal at home," he said with a smile.

"I actually find that hard to believe," Rey admitted.

"Really?" Luke asked, grinning.

[thatwaslucky]

"I heard all about you growing up," Rey told him. "You're a legend. Which, don't let that go to your head."

That way led to Kylos Ren.

Luke was blushing to the root of his hair, so it hadn't. "A legend?"

That was a little squeaky for a legend, Luke.

"Not to your head," she repeated. "But... what you did got around."

[tatooine_doofus]

"The Death Star?" Luke asked. "Or--" he gestured at Anakin.

[thatwaslucky]

"Both," she said, and a thought occurred to her, and she headtilted towards Anakin. "Does everyone here know about...?"

"Everyone in this room or on the island?" Luke asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"In this room." Not that she was planning on talking about it at all but it was interesting.

Luke glanced around the room, assessing. "Yes," he said with a nod.

"Huh," she said, looking around. Was it wrong that she felt even more accepted now, being in the club?

"Are you surprised to hear that?" Luke asked.

[thatwaslucky]

"Yes," she said. "I got very used to keeping it a secret."

[tatooine_doofus]

"It's a lot," Luke said with a slightly wry smile. "I didn't handle in particularly gracefully when I found out."

In his defense, Anakin had just sliced his hand off.

"How did you handle it?" Rey wondered.

[tatooine_doofus]

"Screaming," Luke said, making a little face.
