MCA #1- Wednesday evening

For whatever reason, the Skywalker-Solos- including adoptees- had rough Augusts. Rey herself had lost four people in that month a couple years apart. Which was why in talking to Anakin, they'd decided maybe they needed to get people together for some commiseration. Also drinking.

Rey didn't have people over very often but it wasn't like there was a ton of stuff to clean in her stupid-giant apartment. As long as the kitchen worked and there were places to sit (the furniture was mostly mermaid!) it was probably fine.


[For said Skywalker-Solos. Because we have spent a lot, a lot of years being mean.]

Anakin had made a few calls and so that's why Luke was there for support. "I swiped some of Han's whiskey," he said as he came in. "...this is a lot of mermaid," he added.

"It is. I made it." It involved a lot of diving for pearls! "You probably don't want to see the spare room," Rey said.

"Well now that's you made me wonder, I do," Luke said, grinning.

"You have to promise not to judge," she said, which probably didn't discourage him at all.

"I'll do my best," Luke promised. He'd played with toy ships for way too long so he was pretty good at letting people be themselves.

"Okay," she said, waving to invite him across the too big room and opening the door to a spare room filled with random spare furnite gifted by talking animals. Also, a racecar bed.

Shed donated most stuff but everyone kept telling her she had to keep the racecar bed.

"That bed is amazing," Luke said with an earnest smile.

He kind of wanted one.

"There seems to always be a bit of a power struggle on who gets it when someone stays over," she admitted.

"How do they decide?" Luke asked, smiling. "Please say there's a contest."

"No contests but maybe next Parents Weekend," Rey said thoughtfully.

[tatooine_doofus]

"I think that would be the fairest and most entertaining way," Luke told her with a nod.

[thatwaslucky]

"I'll tell them you said it," she said. "It'll hold more weight."

Luke laughed. "Because they respect my opinion?"

[solo_sword]

"I brought some too," Jaina said, holding up the bottle of whiskey.

[tatooine_doofus]

"So many Hans in so many galaxies wondering where their stash of Corellian whiskey went," Luke said with a laugh. "I like it." He leaned in for a hug. "It's good to see you!"

[solo_sword]

"You too," she said, hugging him back. "Next time, maybe less trauma."

It was all repressed trauma anyway.

"That doesn't sound like our family," Luke said, holding on tightly.

[solo_sword]

"I'll have you know we've had a run of okay years by me," Jaina pointed out.

[tatooine_doofus]

"That's just bragging," Luke teased.

[solo_sword]

"I have been through three wars and two coups, I have earned it," she said.

[tatooine_doofus]

"And you're raising twins," Luke said with a smile. "You've earned the semi-quiet."

[solo_sword]

"I do. For a couple days, then I begin the chaos anew," Jaina said. "How are you doing?"

[tatooine_doofus]

"Well, Thrawn's gone," Luke said with a tired smile. "Mara's taken off to the Core to mostly avoid me for a bit, I think."

[solo_sword]

That one still got her a little, though she was absurdly good at masking. "So, peacetime."

Which went for both Thrawn and Mara.

"For the moment," Luke said with a tiny smile. "Now I have to figure out how to get the Order to what you remember."
